Gene targeting strategy for B-hITGA4 mice. 
The exons 1-27 of mouse Itga4 gene that encode the extracellular domain were replaced by human ITGA4 exons 1-27 in B-hITGA4 mice.

Strain specific analysis of ITGA4 gene expression in wild-type mice and homozygous B-hITGA4 mice by RT-PCR. Mouse Itga4 mRNA was detectable in splenocytes of wild-type mice(+/+). Human ITGA4 mRNA was detectable in homozygous B-hITGA4 mice(H/H).

Mouse ITGA4 was exclusively detectable in wild-type C57BL/6 mice. Human ITGA4 was exclusively detectable in homozygous B-hITGA4 mice.
